Affiliated with Spain’s famed Barraquer Institute, this department is renowned throughout the Middle East. Supervised by Dr. Riad Al Jord, an ophthalmologist and Managing Director of Al Dowali, the department has a special paediatric ophthalmology unit.

Hi-tech diagnostic equipment has been installed, including Excimer Laser. Treatments include, cataract removal, intra-ocular lens replacement, corneal transplantation and glaucoma surgery. The department specialises in various diagnostic teachniques including optometry, perimetry, interferometry and imaging techniques such as angiography, echography and electrophysiology.
